The problem of incessant plastic pollution:

More plastic has been produced in the last 10 years than in the last 100 years combined. Worldwide, 400 million tons are now produced annually. Half of these plastic products are the ubiquitous single-use plastic. Around 10 million tons of plastic end up in the world's oceans every year. Over 80 percent of the plastic in the oceans comes from land (landfills->rivers->ocean). Fish, birds and other animals ingest small plastic pieces and microplastics directly, which usually has serious consequences. The ratio of microplastics to plankton is already 1:2. Less than 15% of plastic is recycled worldwide.

We want to do our small part to ensure that plastic is recycled directly through the circular economy. But we are also aware that it will not be possible to adequately counteract the problem without reducing plastic production.
